  3. As a student who is paying for their own education, I do not seem to understand why the Board can not come to a fair agreement. They seem to miss the point that ALL teachers shape the future of the nation, herefore it saddens me that they are willing to pay some teachers more and then cut the pay of others. Who decides who get paid less/more...the board? I also do not care for the fact that they are considering dropping some classes or taking away some of the online classes. As a student who is trying to finish their ASS degree, and have had to do online/independent study class frequently, because the college has not deemed enrollment in the class great enough and cancels the class...it's just another way to try and keep us here forever. As much as I love RVC, it seems like it may be in my best interest to finish my degree else where. As i think most students are starting to understand. The school is wasting the talent of our faculty by "forcing" their hand.
I completely stand behind the Faculty, and would gladly stand shoulder to shoulder with any of them.
I thank you for the service you do for our community and the future of every student in your classroom, whether that be in person or online.

  4. I encourage the Board to renew the understanding that Teachers are the "Backbone" of any educational institution. The Rock Valley teachers are second to none and have exemplified to me an utmost care for me as a student.

Additionally, I encourage the Board to find other ways to make the school budget work versus maintaining the posture of late regarding the Teachers Union which creates this unnecessary and unproductive act of leadership.
